Dimitar Stoyanov is an investigative journalist. Apart from his research for the independent website Bivol, Stoyanov is a PhD student at the Department of Political Science at Sofia University’s Philosophy Faculty. His doctoral study scrutinises the phenomenon of fake news. Stoyanov has been a journalist since 2000, having worked for the Bulgarian National Radio, NOVA TV and bTV. He has repeatedly come under the scrutiny of international freedom of speech organisations after suffering pressure consequent to his work for Bivol. Stoyanov has won several prestigious awards for his research work.
