Prof. Georgi Kapriev, PhD, teaches philosophy at St. Kliment Okhridski Sofia University. As a member of the International Society for Medieval Philosophy Studies (SIEPM), Prof. Kapriev chaired its Byzantine Philosophy Commission between 2002 and 2012. He is also a member of the Society for Study of the Philosophy of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance in Germany (GPMR) and co-founder of the European Graduate School for Ancient and Medieval Philosophy (EGSAMP). Kapriev has been a visiting professor and guest lecturer at many European universities. He is the author of 26 books (in Bulgarian and German) and publisher of 28 collections. Editor-in-chief of philosophia-bg.com.; co-founder of the Archives of Medieval Philosophy and Culture, Bibliotheca Christiana, Christianity and Culture, Studien und Texte zur Geistesgeschichte des Mittelalters (a Brill series), etc. Publisher and co-author of the Byzantine part in the Byzanz. Judentum volume from the Grundriss der Geschichte der Philosophie series, edited by Friedrich Ueberweg. Translator from Latin, Ancient Greek, German and Russian.
